Job Summary
The Administrator, Small School District Support Services serves as the Education Support Services (ESS) Branch liaison for small school districts in San Bernardino County. The Administrator leads the countywide development of strategic guidance associated with ensuring small school districts achieve effective learning experiences for students, including support in the development of Local Control Accountability Plans (LCAP) and standards-based curriculum, development of plans associated with students’ academic, social, emotional, and mental health needs, as well as plans that address opportunity gaps. The Administrator coordinates collaborative action of cross-sector practitioners to assist small school districts to prepare students for success by providing direct, individualized support for development of small school district plans, and customized technical assistance. As a resource contributing to small school district outcomes, the Administrator transfers a high level of knowledge and information to staff and districts regarding Education Code statutes, California Department of Education policies, California State Board of Education decisions and Federal statutes/requirements; examples include, but are not limited to LCAP, Common Core State Standards, Smarter Balance Assessment Consortium, and Elementary and Secondary Education Act. The Administrator serves on county, regional and state committees, as appropriate. The Administrator reports to the Assistant Superintendent, Education Support Services.
Requirements / Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS • Possession of a Master’s Degree in Education or closely related field from an accredited institution; • Possession of a valid California Clear Administrative Services Credential; • Five (5) years working as a school, district, and/or site administrator; • Three (3) years of experience working in a small school district; • Three (3) years of experience in site or district plan development and professional development planning and implementation; • Three (3) years of experience working with schools and/or districts identified as Differentiated Assistance/Comprehensive Support and Improvement or related state programs.
