Job Summary

Creative, Media and Performing Arts (CPMA) Middle School has a one full-time (1.0 FTE), 10-month project resource teacher vacancy. This position will support the Visual and Performing Arts (VAPA) Department's Magnet Schools Assistance Program (MSAP) federal grant, “Amplifying the Arts in San Diego Unified School District.” This multi-year grant will serve the Creative, Media and Performing Arts (CPMA) Middle School. The grant’s objectives are to enhance the school’s arts program and to reverse minority group isolation at the site.

Requirements / Qualifications

Qualified applicants must have a valid California multiple subject credential or a single subject credential. Teachers who have taught in the arts are preferred. Other preferences include the ability to lead and support Professional Development and offer support around innovative instructional practices, including interdisciplinary curricular design and inquiry-based learning. The ability to support teaching and learning that builds welcoming environments that honor and include all learners, their families, and the community. Familiarity with the goals and operations of magnet schools and/or federal grants is also valued. Willingness to support grant compliance requirements such as documentation and data collection is highly preferred. Applicant's credential must be attached to their application and registered with the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing by the close of the posting. Applicants must have a valid California driver’s license and be prepared to conduct, participate in, and travel to sites, professional development sessions, workshops, and meetings.
