The San Diego County Office of Education (SDCOE) serves our county’s most vulnerable students, and supports school leaders, teachers, and students across the county. We support nearly 780? schools and more than 500,000 students, including the 2,020 children we educate each year through our Juvenile Court and Community Schools. SDCOE provides a variety of services for the 42 school districts, 131 charter schools, and five community college districts in the county. SDCOE is recruiting for a Executive Leadership Coach for the DSI (District and School Improvement) department within the Learning & Leadership Services division. ABOUT THE POSITION The job of Executive Leadership Coach (ELC) is done for the purpose/s of creating, developing, transforming, implementing, assisting and supporting county-wide instructional leadership services and district systems, SDCOE leadership institutes and administrator credentialing programs, continuous improvement communities and breakthrough networks, data-driven qualitative system services, and school leadership coaching; coordinating and providing school improvement services across county and Region 9 in alignment with the SDCOE Equity Blueprint for Action; and responding to the changing needs of the districts served by SDCOE. The District and School Improvement department provides system supports for schools and districts that build capacity toward equity and justice for every student through development of equity-driven leaders; use of continuous improvement grounded in equity, inquiry, and empathy; and data-driven services that transform educational systems and experiences to serve all students in preparing for meaningful post-secondary opportunities.
Requirements / Qualifications
CREDENTIALS & LICENSES Valid CA Administrative Services Credential, valid CA Teaching Credential, and CA Driver's License *Note: Valid California credentials are a requirement at time of hire. If you do not possess the required California credentials, you may go to the California Commission of Teacher Credentialing website https://www.ctc.ca.gov/credentials/out-of-state-app for details on meeting California’s requirements. Experience: Four (4) years of increasingly responsible administrative leadership experience in a K-12 educational setting, including proven success as a school-site principal. Experience must include effective instructional leadership that resulted in the improvement of teaching and learning; analyzing student achievement data and identifying patterns and trends to improve teaching and learning; the development, implementation, and delivery of a high quality professional development; teaching and leadership in a variety of educational settings, particularly in high poverty, high performing schools; and effective coaching of K-12 teachers and/or administrators; Education: A master’s degree from a regionally accredited institution of higher education in education, educational administration, or closely related area, including coursework in instructional leadership and/or organizational change
Equivalency: A combination of education and experience equivalent to master’s degree from a regionally accredited institution of higher education in education, educational administration, or closely related area, including coursework in instructional leadership and/or organizational change; and four (4) years of increasingly responsible administrative leadership experience in a K-12 educational setting, including proven success as a school-site principal.
