M.C.O.E. EXPANDED LEARNING PROGRAM INSTRUCTIONAL ASSISTANT Job Description Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or general education degree (GED). An AA degree or 48 college credits (transcripts required) or pass the CODESP test. Experience working with children and organizing activities. TB clearance. Hold a valid automobile operator’s license. Proof of current automobile insurance is required if using personal vehicle for job duties or any MCOE business. Fingerprinting required. Fingerprints must clear DOJ & FBI Live Scan. Synopsis of Position The employee assists with providing structural, educational-based enrichment activities for students. The employee adheres to and takes directives from the project leader. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Essential Performance Responsibilities Ability to maintain a professional attitude when interacting with coworkers, clients and the public. Supervises student aides and volunteers. Assists in maintaining attendance records for student participants. Assists with recreation programs for age appropriate groups. Provides enrichment activities for students in grades K-5 and/or 6-8 that support regular day academics. Supports and provides a socially acceptable and physically safe environment for children. Attends regular staff meetings. Assists in developing and participating in fundraisers and field trips. Ability to manage a group of students (i.e., demonstrate and maintain classroom control).
