Requirements / Qualifications

Under the direction of the Child Nutrition Manager, candidate will create, plan, organize and coordinate standardized recipes throughout the District’s schools. Candidate will train other Food Service Supervisors in the implementation of the developed program. Candidate serves as supervisor for Food Service personnel at a designated school. Candidate must have the ability to create, plan, organize, coordinate and supervise food service menus for schools throughout the District; create high volume nutritional recipes for all schools throughout the District; prepare and set up food items for service to students and staff; estimate and requisition food quantities, equipment and supplies needed; receive, inspect and verify delivery of food supplies; assure proper cleanliness and maintenance of equipment and supplies used; assure proper temperatures of food storage units, such as freezers, refrigerators and hot boxes; operate a variety of equipment and machines used in a school cafeteria for quantity food preparation including slicer, grader, mixer, and computer terminal; follow health and sanitation requirements. Education and Experience: Any combination equivalent to graduation from high school, including three years culinary experience in a high volume environments. Culinary degree preferred. This position requires a valid California Driver’s License and ServSafe Certification.
