Job Summary

Basic Function/Definition This is a continuous recruitment to fill part-time, temporary, hourly assignments on an as-needed basis. Departments or divisions will refer to the pool of applicants on file to fill temporary assignments as needed. You will be contacted by the hiring manager should the department or division be interested in scheduling an interview. Minimum Qualifications Any Bachelor’s degree AND two years of related professional experience OR any Associate degree AND six years of related professional experience OR the equivalent. Equivalencies The equivalency is: 1) A High School Diploma, PLUS college course work equivalent to an Associate’s degree in the discipline of the assignment, PLUS eight years of occupational experience related to the discipline of the assignment at or above the journeyman level or equivalent – technical recognition in the discipline of the assignment, PLUS appropriate certification to practice or licensure or its equivalent, if available; OR 2) A High School Diploma, PLUS eight years of occupational related to the discipline of the assignment at or above the journeyman level or equivalent – technical recognition in the discipline of the assignment, PLUS appropriate certification to practice or licensure or its equivalent, if available; OR 3) Recognized accomplishments which demonstrate expertise and skill in the field of study beyond that normally achieved through formal education. Responsibilities Assignment may include teaching courses as assigned during day or evening, weekday or weekends or online. Have a commitment to professional excellence and continuous growth in the fields of teaching. Other professional responsibilities and activities normally expected of members of community college faculty as described by Board Policies and the California Education code.
