Job Summary
Under the administrative supervision of the school principal and under the direction of the District Nurse, works closely with students, parents, and teachers to administer first aid ; to perform nursing duties in the care and treatment of students; to assist school nurse in the care of students with chronic illness; to assist teachers in educating students; to prepare and administer medication; to assist District Nurse in the planning, organization, and implementation of district’s health services; perform a variety of clerical duties in support of student health services; prepares and maintains student immunization and health records and files; and do other related work as required.

***THESE ARE TEMPORARY POSITIONS FOR THE 2021-2022 SCHOOL YEAR*** REQUIRED DOCUMENTS (INCOMPLETE APPLICATIONS WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED): Must be submitted with application **Proof of graduation from high school, GED or college degree (All foreign educational documents must be translated and evaluated for U.S. equivalency prior to submitting) **Proof of a valid Vocational Nurse License issued by the California Board of Vocational Nurse and Psychiatric Technician Examiners OR a valid Registered Nurse License issued by the California Board of Registered Nursing **Valid California driver's license **Proof of valid First Aid and CPR Certificate issued by the American Red Cross One Year clerical experience and experience providing services to children is required One year health care experience or education preferred
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Graduation from high school or high school equivalency and one year clerical experience and experience providing services to children required; one year health care experience or education preferred. LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Possession of a valid Vocational Nurse License issued by the California Board of Vocational Nurse and Psychiatric Technician Examiners or a valid Registered Nurse License issues by the California Board of Registered Nursing. Valid California driver's license; valid First Aid and CPR Certificate issued by the American Red Cross. WORKING CONDITIONS: Travel from site to site; school health office(s); subject to exposure to communicable or infectious diseases.
