Job Summary

Job Summary

School Nurse will, under the supervision of the Administrator for Special Education and direction of current District Nurse, perform a wide variety of specialized and responsible tasks including meeting the individual health needs of students; Incorporating health care plans directed by physicians; Complying with the laws relating to student health, including parental and guardian consent; Providing appropriate care for ill, medically fragile and/or injured students; Providing health information and serving as a resource to teachers, staff, and administrators; and identifying health problems for referral for proper treatment.

Requirements / Qualifications

California credential(s) that authorizes participation as a School Nurse or be eligible for the credential. Valid California Driver License and current DMV printout (printout only required if called in for an interview). The clear credential must be obtained within 5 years of employment or within the remaining term if currently in possession of a preliminary credential.

1. Letter of Application/Introduction 2. Resume/Vita 3. Copy of Credential(s) 4. Copy of Registered Nurse License, First Aid/CPR and all relevant certifications 5. Copy of all Degrees 6. Three recent letters of recommendation (one must be from your current supervisor)
