Seeking compassionate Registered Nurses and Licensed Vocational Nurses for the School Health Center: Flexible schedules available, full-time/ part-time/ per diem year-round Holiday and PAID time off during school breaks (Spring 1 week, Winter 2 weeks for example) Chef-inspired meals provided FREE to employees Competitive wage based on experience and requirements Beautiful campus on the BEACH, walking distance to Carlsbad Village ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS: Under the direction of the Health Center Manager, a Nurse Practitioner, or Health Care Provider, administers medicines (including OTC medicines) and treats symptomatic complaints according to the Standard Operating Procedure guidelines. Encourage and Support Cadets with healthy lifestyle choices and nutrition education. Cadet-centered care uses the 5 sequential steps of the nursing process. Document in Electronic Health Record System and or Log all Cadet chief complaints & symptoms, monitor and follow-up with additional care as assessed and needed. Administer medications as prescribed by a Licensed Provider Maintain Medication Administration Record (MAR and eMAR) of controlled medications. Facilitate Academy physician sick calls by triaging patients and following physician orders. Communicate with families, counseling & leadership regarding Cadet conditions. Maintain and Evaluate school health requirements and records for admission. Schedules appointments with outside medical services in coordination with transportation, and as directed by the facility director. Handoff shift report to oncoming nurse. This job is a civilian position and does not require military service (including commission and enlistment) Qualifications REQUIRED SKILLS: Current CA State license. American Heart Association recognized BLS
