Job Summary
Under the direction of the Chief of People & Leadership, to assist with the planning, organizing, and management of the operations of the human resources department; to provide human resources expertise and workforce management consultation to agency/department leadership in classification and compensation, talent management, Result Base Accountability (RBA) for training and leadership development, HRIS systems, hiring, performance management, and labor/employee relations. The Assistant Director, People & Leadership assists with driving Human Resources best practices and strategic direction across all offices and school site settings, including the development of policies and procedures. This position fosters and cultivates strong relationships with the broad range of ACOE employees and with the districts in support of ACOE’s commitment to a learning organization culture.
Requirements / Qualifications
Five years of supervisory management experience in the following human resources management functions: Talent management, Labor/employee relations, Onboarding, HRIS systems, & Performance management. Work experience in K - 16 education enviorment or public government agency. Bachelor's Degree in human resources, business management, finance, or related field. A certification in HR is desirable. OR Any combination of education and related job experience equivalent to the above qualifications. A valid California driver's license. WORK YEAR: 261 paid days per year | 221 workdays HOLIDAYS: 13 paid holidays VACATION: 27 paid vacation days RETIREMENT/PENSION: Employee and Employer paid mandatory membership in the Public Employee Retirement System (PERS). Employee rate is currently 7%. HEALTH INSURANCE: You may elect voluntary membership in CalPERS medical coverage. (Management employees receive $750/month towards their medical and vision insurance; however , it will only be received if they enroll in our medical or vision plan.) VISION: You may elect voluntary membership in VSP vision coverage. DENTAL INSURANCE: Employee paid, mandatory enrollment in CVT Detla Dental.
