Job Summary

Los Angeles College Prep Academy is currently searching for a fully credentialed and experienced Math/Science Teacher for the 2021-2022 school year. LACPA is seeking a high-school math and science educator. Candidates should have strong collaborative and communicative skills in order to work closely with other educators. General Duties 1. Develop and maintain California State Standards aligned courses within the context of a de- colonial framework of study that centers students of color’s identity within all learning opportunities. 2. Provide learning opportunities that teaches students how math and science is utilized to oppress communities of color with respect to disruption of local and indigenous economies. 3. Facilitate learning experiences using a variety of methods including youth participatory action research when applicable. 4. Organize classroom systems that ensure students are engaged in learning opportunities that are meaningful, relevant, and provide numerous opportunities to develop a sense of belonging.
