Requirements / Qualifications
Required Education and/or Experience: 1. High School Diploma or the equivalent; and 2. Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; 3. Or two (2) years of experience working within a classroom setting, and 4. Pass a local assessment of reading and math skills. 5. Knowledge of SPED policies and processes and experience with special needs students preferred.
Special Education competency test will be administered to all qualified applicants. Must apply through EdJoin and upload the required documents as stated (ie. Letter of Recommendation) in order to be considered for this position.

The candidate for this Instructional Aide position will have an understanding of students with special needs with a minimum of first aide training prior to beginning of employment. The candidate will work 1:1 with a student and guide him/her in instructional practices, curriculum, outside activities, physical education, electives and recess. Candidate must be patient, kind, friendly, observant, able to keep good documentation, and collaborate with teachers and parent.
