Job Summary
Seeking a passionate and creative Elementary School Art Teacher to join our vibrant educational community. This role is designed for an individual who is enthusiastic about fostering an appreciation of art in young children and providing a foundation for lifelong creativity. The successful candidate will teach students in grades K-8 the fundamentals of art and encourage them to express themselves artistically. Responsibilities: - Design and implement engaging art lessons that meet the developmental needs of students and align with state and national art education standards. - Introduce a variety of artistic techniques and mediums, including drawing, painting, sculpting, and mixed media. - Manage and organize art supplies and classroom resources to ensure a tidy and conducive learning environment. - Develop students' understanding of color, texture, form, line, shape, and space. - Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to students and parents. - Maintain a positive, encouraging, and creative classroom atmosphere. - Collaborate with other teachers and staff to integrate art into other educational disciplines. - Organize school art displays and participate in events that promote art education. - Continue professional development to remain current with educational standards and best practices in art education.
Requirements / Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Art Education, Fine Arts, or a related field preferred. - State certification/licensure as an elementary art teacher. - Proven experience as an art teacher or an extensive background in art highly desirable. - Strong understanding of child development and age-appropriate artistic techniques. - Excellent communication and organizational skills. - Ability to inspire and motivate young children in a positive and creative environment.
