EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Graduation from high school (or equivalent) and two years of experience involving vehicle maintenance and repair work. LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Incumbents must have an acceptable driving record and must qualify for insurability by the District's insurance carrier. - The following licenses or other requirements must be obtained within the first six (6) months of employment: - Valid California Class B or Class A commercial driver's license with passenger and air brake endorsements. - US Department of Transportation Medical Examiner's Certificate. - Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification in Master Automotive Technician, Master Medium/Heavy Duty Truck Technician, or Master School Bus Technician is desired. NOTE: This classification has been identified as a safety-sensitive job class based on the guidelines of the U.S. Department of Transportation. Employees in this job class are subject to random selection for alcohol or controlled substance testing.
