Requirements / Qualifications
SUMMARY: Assists the Special Education Classroom Teacher in general daily classroom activities and student supervision inside and outside of the classroom. Provides individual, one-on-one educational instruction and assistance to various students with special needs in order to support the supervising teacher and other team members in providing a quality educational benefit and consistent special education services. May assist office staff in their duties. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma or equivalent required. Must meet the requirements established in Federal Regulations, currently, two years of college coursework, or pass the Paraprofessional Assessment. Will be required to meet Level I Paraprofessional Standards prior to first day of employment. Spanish language skills or bilingualism preferred but not required.
