Requirements / Qualifications

The District is accepting applications for Temporary Health Care Assistant. SUMMARY Assists a school nurse in the maintenance of health records, referrals, and reports. Administers routine first aid and assists in screening ill or injured students in accordance with State laws and District regulations. Administers prescribed medications to students. Assists with health testing programs and other health-related services. Minimum Qualifications (Education and/or Experience): Requires a High School diploma or equivalent with additional vocational or special training in health care assistance, specialized training in first aid and CPR, and a minimum of two years of health care or clerical office experience involving contact with children. Licenses or Certifications: First Aid and CPR (adult and child) certification required and a valid California Driver’s License.

SELECTION PROCEDURE: Individuals interested in employment are required to complete an official district application. Applicants are asked to describe any training, education, experience, or skills relevant to this position. Resumes are optional. Applications will be screened based on the minimum qualifications shown for the position. Qualified candidates will be identified at each step of the selection process for further competition. Fingerprinting and criminal record checks will be done on all prospective employees.
