SCHOOL PSYCHOLOGIST (ERMHS)
REQUIREMENTS FOR APPLYING:
Position requires person to hold PPS school psychologist credential and be state licensed in marriage family therapy or clinical social worker.
DOCUMENTATION TO BE SUBMITTED WITH APPLICATION:
- Copy of valid California Board of Behavioral Science Examiners (BBSE), Marriage Family Therapist (MFT) license, or Licensed Social Worker.
- 3 current (within last 3 years) letters of reference

- 3 years experience in behavioral health plan process including direct services, treatment plans. Monitoring progress and termination of services.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bilingual/Spanish
- 1 year experience in Medi-Cal charting
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The ERMHS School Psychologist provides behavior health services to district students referred for assessment and assistance with the goal of facilitating and promoting appropriate behavioral health services to district students referred for assessment and assitance with the goal of facilitating and promoting appropriate behavioral health and personal growth under the provisions fo the Educationally Related Mental Health Services program (ERMHS). The ERMHS School Psychologist identifies the behavioral helath needs of students and develops therapy goals and objectives for implementation through an individual therapy plan. They also provide direction to and oversight of pre-licensed marriage family therapists, pre-licensed social workers, marriage family therapist trainees, and clinical social worker trainees.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Provides educationally related mental health services to SBCUSD students and their families in individual, gorup, family modalities, and collateral case management services.
- Provides clinical case management services.
- Maintans accurate clinical records by completing required documentation for students such as, but not limited to: legally maintaining an ethically required paperwork including weekly progress notes, collateral notes, clinical interview, relase of information, clinical summaries, etc.
- Participates in biannual chart audit.
- Develops and maintains behavioral health programs to meet sudent needs
- Manages psychiatric emergencies
- Conducts interviews, assessments, and observations
- Participates in special assessments, individual therapy plans and other meetings
- Consultation and collaboration with parents, teachers, and administration
- Refers students to other public/private community agencies
- Provides in-service training to parents, community agencies, students, district personnel, and others
- Directs and provides oversight of mental health therapy services provided by other staff members
- Provides clinical supervision
- Makes recommendations to LEA's for mental health services
- Performs other related duties as required
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Valid and current California Board of Behavioral Science Examiners (BBSE), Marriage Family Therapist (MFT) license, or Valid and current Licensed Social Worker (LCSW). Licensed Eligible MFT and Licensed Eligible Clinical Social Worker. Submitt proof that you are licensed eligible either by Conical Supervisors Letter and Log, or providing BBSE eligiblity/authorization to take MFT/CSW exam.
- Current Pupil Personnel Services (PPS) credential in School Psychology.
- Two (2 years) of experience providing mental health therapy services in a California school district or county office of education, or with a contracted mental health agency that provided school based mental health services
- Two (2 years) eexperience in behavioral health plan process (including direct services, treatment plans, monitoring progress, and terminaition of services).
- One year experience in Medi-Cal charting.
- Two (2) years experience providing training to parents, school district staff, and/or community based organization.
- Must posess valid California Driver's license
