BASIC FUNCTION & DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS SUBSTITUTE AND PERMANENT POSITIONS SUBS ARE ON CALL / AS NEEDED 3 - 5.75 HRS/DAY This is a continuous examination process and may close at any time, with little or no notice. An application review may occur at any time and qualified candidates who have submitted applications will be invited to participate in the testing process. Qualified applicants submitting applications after the review date will be considered in the next examination process. This list will be utilized to fill any vacancies that may occur during the one year life of the Eligibility List, which may include temporary positions. RECRUITMENT TYPE Open - This employment opportunity is available to anyone who qualifies. A single eligibility list based on rank order will be generated from this recruitment. *The list generated from this recruitment will be used to fill both substitute and permanent vacancies in the District. BASIC FUNCTION: Provides support to a Child Development classroom by assisting with the preparation and delivery of instructional activities, observing developmental indicators, redirecting behavior, and addressing health and safety of the children. EXAMPLES OF DUTIES DUTIES: Uses positive reinforcement and encouragement to develop children's communication skills, promote, problem solving and conflict resolution, build self-esteem, and foster children's ability to express themselves. Reads, sings, and plays with children during various indoor and outdoor activities. Maintains clean and safe environment by wiping down tables, sweeping floors and outdoor playground, washing dishes, and disposing of trash. Assists teacher in the care and supervision of children and implementation of developmental instructional activities. Monitors students to ensure safety during play by organizing various indoor/outdoor activities that encourage a safe interaction with other students. Provides health and safety mainte
