This posting is for a Preschool Aide position. This is a classified part time position working 5 hours per day Monday - Friday. Please see the job guide for more details. Classification is non-exempt. Current salary placement is relative to the position work experience up to a maximum of 3 years; see salary schedule for step/column information. Education/Licenses/Experience: Must have a minimum of 6 units of ECE/CD coursework and 8 general education units from an accredited school are required. NCLB REQUIREMENTS: In accordance with the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 (NCLB), paraprofessionals are required to have a high school diploma or its equivalent and demonstrate proficiency in reading, writing, math, and classroom instruction. Employees are required to meet the requirements either by holding an AA degree or higher, having 48 units from an institution of higher education, or by demonstrating, through local assessment, the knowledge of and the ability to assist in the instruction of reading, writing, and mathematics.
