Essential Job Functions: Assists teachers for the purpose of implementing lesson plans and carrying out assigned lessons. Maintains student's files, records, etc. for the purpose of ensuring the availability of items as may be required. Monitors students, classroom, playground, and school activities for the purpose of providing a safe and positive learning environment. Performs record-keeping and basic clerical functions, copying, etc. for the purpose of supporting the teacher in maintaining student files and providing classroom materials. REQUIREMENT: Meet a rigorous standard of quality by meeting one of the following: Two years of study at an institution of higher education obtained an associate’s degree (or higher); or through a formal local academic assessment, knowledge of and the ability to assist in instructing reading, writing, and mathematics (or, as appropriate, reading readiness, writing readiness, and mathematics readiness).
