RESPONSIBILITIES: Atascadero Unified School District and the Lighthouse Foundation have partnered to be able to offer after school enrichment classes for 4th-5th grade students. The goal of this program is to engage young people in positive and fulfilling activities so that they can develop and nurture an intrinsic desire to be and to do good for themselves and others in our community. Atascadero USD and Lighthouse have selected program leaders who have a commitment to mentoring the students they are teaching, and who are committed to the goals of the program. AUSD Lighthouse After-School Art Teacher will teach 36 one-hour art classes to 4th and 5th graders at rotating sites (Creston, Monterey Road, San Benito, San Gabriel, Santa Margarita, and Santa Rosa Academic Academy). Classes will be held, two days per week, 2:45- 3:45pm throughout the year, with 3 weeks at each of the above listed sites. Art medium(s) will be the teacher's choice, with supervisor approval. The Art Teacher will be expected to act as a positive influence on their students, ideally instilling a love for art which could transfer to future participation. QUALIFICATIONS: Art experience, required Art instruction experience, preferred Classroom instruction experience, preferred AVAILABILITY: 36 hours of instruction, taught after school (2:45-3:45pm) at rotating sites (Creston, Monterey Road, San Benito, San Gabriel, Santa Margarita, and Santa Rosa Academic Academy) REQUIREMENTS: Ability to Pass DOJ Background/Fingerprint Check Tuberculosis Clearance High School Diploma
