El Rio Community School is an independent public charter school informed by the principles of Waldorf Education and authorized by the Los Angeles Unified School District. We opened our doors in the fall of 2020 to serve students and families in northeast Los Angeles. We are located in the Lincoln Heights neighborhood in Northeast Los Angeles, close to Highland Park, South Pasadena, and El Sereno.

We are an independent charter authorized by LAUSD with a caseload of special education students in mainstream classrooms who require pull-out and push-in minutes for intensive instruction in math/language arts. In addition, you may work with small groups of students identified as needing intervention in math/language arts.
