Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) (Eligibility Pool) at Valley Regional Occupational Program
Requirements / Qualifications
A complete application must include: 1. A letter of application containing the applicant’s statement of philosophy of education and administration, and specifically referencing the qualifications of this position. 2. Three letters of recommendation, a detailed resume, or other documents summarizing the employment history. 3. A photocopy of the applicant’s California Teaching Credential. Applicants wishing to be considered on the basis of their eligibility for the credential must submit documentation (e.g. photocopies of transcripts, CBEST card, etc.) supporting their eligibility for meeting the credential requirements at the time of the application. It is the applicant’s responsibility to request that materials be sent to Valley ROP well in advance of the posted deadline.
Experience/Training/Education: • Must possess a current EMT license and be able to qualify for the State of California Requirements. • Demonstrate eligibility for the Designated Subject Career Technical Education Credential in Health Careers. • Five (5) years full time verifiable experience in EMT or combination of part-time and full-time employment to equal five (5) years (1000 hours of employment=1 year). Related education may be substituted for one years of experience. Condition of Employment • Required to submit a TB screening. • Qualify for a Designated Subject Credential. • Successful completion of criminal background check is required for positions in this classification.
