Mater Dei High School, a co-educational college preparatory Diocesan Catholic high school, has an opening for a Long- Term Substitute Physics Teacher. The ideal candidate will be a dynamic and dedicated educator to serve in the Science Department. Dates: August 20, 2024 to November 12, 2024 Requirements: Bachelor’s degree or Teaching Credential in Physics High school teaching experience preferred. Qualified candidates will be able to: Support a student-centered atmosphere implementing a Problem Based Learning Plan and execute lessons that are data driven, incorporate research-based methodologies, and are designed to engage and support all learners. Design learning experiences for students that place value on innovation, inquiry, and creativity. Offer collaborative and individual learning opportunities that support student growth. Incorporate educational technology into the classroom in an authentic manner to enhance the learning experience. Actively collaborate with fellow teachers to design lessons, analyze data, and write common assessments. Be supportive of the Mission and Philosophy of a Catholic school. Additional Responsibilities: Act as a professional role model in a Catholic environment. Support the Mission and Philosophy, policies, and goals of the school.
