The Orange County Department of Education (OCDE) serves some of Orange County’s most vulnerable student populations and provides support and mandated fiscal oversight to 28 school districts serving more than 600 schools and approximately 475,000 students. In addition to providing direct instruction to students through its own alternative and special education programs, OCDE administers an array of programs and services that are critical to the operations of local school districts and community colleges, facilitating professional development, legal guidance, payroll, career and technical education support, high-speed internet access, Local Control and Accountability Plan assistance and approval, resources for families, and student enrichment. Educational Services is dedicated to supporting professional learning for Orange County school districts. Through our collective capacity, we provide high quality and sustainable professional learning that enhances the professional capital of the community we serve. We provide multi-tiered systems of support to the Orange County community that focus on academic, behavioral, and social success for all learners.Early Learning Services provides a wealth of research-based professional learning, coaching, technical assistance, and educational incentives for Orange County early learning and care programs, including public and private preschool, child care, Transitional Kindergarten (TK), Kindergarten, and community partners serving young children. The Orange County Department of Education (OCDE) is seeking a knowledgeable professional to serve as Project Liaison, Early Childhood Education. The Project Liaison will assist in the implementation and development of quality improvement technical assistance, training, and support to early learning educators and directors. This person will provide program coaching in alignment with Quality Start Orange County. The goal of the Quality Rating and Improvement System (QRIS) is to ensure that children in California have access to high quality programs so that they thrive in their early learning settings and succeed in kindergarten and beyond. The QRIS strives to improve the quality of early learning with a focus in three areas of program quality: child development and readiness for school; teachers and teaching; and program and environment quality.
Requirements / Qualifications
Education and Experience: Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be: • Three years of increasingly responsible experience with preschool educators and administrators. • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college with major coursework in child development or related field. • Experience with quality improvement coaching in an early learning setting is highly desirable.
