CLASS TITLE: TECHNOLOGY SUPPORT SPECIALIST I
BASIC FUNCTION:
Under general supervision, troubleshoots, repairs and operates technology systems and related peripherals. Performs operations involved in a variety of technology media output.
REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
1. Perform validated media input utilizing a variety of technology systems and peripherals.
2. Operates and performs general technology and administrative tasks associated with the operation and support of technology equipment.
3. Provide web services support.
4. Prepare process and configure general technology systems to produce a variety of output media to include but not limited to reports, lists, forms and labels as requested.
5. Troubleshoot, repair, monitor, backup and escalate a variety of technology related systems.
6. Serve as project team member on a variety of technology related projects.
OTHER DUTIES:
Assist other departments with special projects as assigned. Perform other related duties with respect to position as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:
KNOWLEDGE OF:
Principles, methods, procedures and tools used in the operation and repair of technology systems.
Media control procedures and media entry operations.
Back-up techniques, procedures and systems.
A variety of technology production systems.
Effective oral and written communication skills.
Principles and practices of technology systems.
ABILITY TO:
1. Perform a variety of technology operations in the production of media output and web services support.
2. Perform quality assurance, maintain and monitor logs and perform technology systems backup.
3. Input, process and produce a variety of media production according to established procedures and timelines.
4. Communicate effectively both orally and in writing as a project team member.
5. Operate technology systems properly and efficiently.
6. Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Any combination equivalent to: graduation from high school and two years experience in technology systems. A+ certification is highly desirable.
WORKING CONDITIONS:

Indoor and outdoor work environment.
Driving a vehicle to conduct work.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate hand tools, computer keyboards and other assigned equipment.
Ability to reach overhead and horizontally.
May include climbing ladders and working from heights.
Sitting or standing for extended periods of time.
Lifting and carrying moderately heavy equipment.
Bending at the waist, kneeling or crouching.
Seeing to perform cable duties; having color vision.
