Job Summary
The Health Careers Resource Teacher provides leadership to the Vocational Nursing Program and has the responsibility and authority to carry out the duties set forth in the regulations of the Board of Vocational Nursing and Psychiatric Technicians (BVNPT). Under the direction of the School administration, the Health Careers Resource Teacher is accountable for the administration, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the LVN and CNA programs. This position mentors faculty and staff, develops curriculum, establishes relationships with clinical sites, and supports students in all nursing program areas.
Requirements / Qualifications
? Hold a current California active license as a Registered Nurse ? Hold a baccalaureate degree from an approved school ? Have a minimum of three years experience as a registered nurse; one year shall be in teaching or clinical supervision, or a combination thereof, in a state approved registered nursing or vocational or practical nursing, or psychiatric technician school within the last five years; OR a minimum or three years experience in nursing administration or nursing education within the last five years ? Have completed a course or courses offered by an approved school with instruction in administration, teaching, and curriculum development ? Equivalent experience and/or education as determined by the California Board of Vocational Nursing and Psychiatric Technicians (BVNPT). ? Work experience must be within the last five years. ? Demonstrated cultural competency, sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, and ethnic backgrounds of program students, faculty, and staff. ? Superior interpersonal and communication skills. ? Proficient in MS Office
