Job Summary

The job of Accounting Assistant is done for the purpose/s of performing a variety of financial activities that require accurately processing, recording and/or updating fiscal information in accordance with established financial practices, communicating information to staff, the public and vendors, ensuring compliance with financial, legal and administrative requirements and providing information and/or direction as may be requested. Open and Competitive: 40 hours/week Basic & Skills Exams: Week of July 26th - By appointment Oral Exam: Wednesday, August 4, 2021 Final Interview: TBD * Health & Welfare Package: A variety of medical, dental, and vision plans are available. The District provides $6,500 per year to go towards the cost of insurance. *Employee Assistance Program: A program that provides confidential support for employees and is 100% covered by the District. * Retirement: CalPERS pension; additional retirement plans (403b and 457) are available to interested employees. * Vacation Leave: 10 paid vacation days per year (available to use after probationary period). * Sick Leave: 12 paid sick days per year. * Holidays: 16 paid holidays per year. * Longevity: Incentive provided to personnel with continuous service in the Castro Valley Unified School District starting at ten (10) years.
