Job Summary

Under the guidance of a Certificated Speech Pathologist, provides assists in providing speech therapy and educational services to students with speech and language disorders. Assists with language development, oral-motor control for speech production, and vocalization. May also monitor the use of communication devices and systems.

Requirements / Qualifications

FULL TIME - 8 HOURS PER DAY 10 VACATION DAYS, 10 SICK DAYS, 12 PAID HOLIDAYS Application Packet: Interested applicants are required to submit the following: • Letter of Interest • Resume • Two (2) current reference letters • Copy of California License as a as a Speech/Language Pathology Assistant • Copy of college Transcripts • Copy of Standard CPR and First Aid Certification Knowledge and skills: The position requires specialized knowledge of basic Speech Pathology theory, procedures, equipment and materials. Requires knowledge of language disorders and rehabilitation, child development and behavior, and learning disabilities. Requires knowledge of operation and maintenance of augmentative communication devices and equipment. Requires knowledge of basic instructional techniques. Requires basic math and interpretive skills to statistically analyze and document student progress. Requires writing skills sufficient to document treatment(s) using appropriate technology.

Employment in this position is contingent upon pre-employment clearances: Department of Justice/FBI Clearance, Background Check, Negative Tuberculosis Test, Child Abuse/Mandated Reporting Training (AB 1432), Sexual Harassment Prevention Training (SB 1343), and legal documentation verifying your identity and any license/certification required by this job description.
