Requirements / Qualifications
ENTRANCE QUALIFICATIONS: Ability to pass the District Proficiency Examination at the level appropriate to the job classification. Possess or must earn a California School Bus Drivers Certificate during probationary period. KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES: KNOWLEDGE OF: Maintenance of lawn sprinkler systems, methods, materials, tools and equipment used in grounds work and other grounds/gardening activities. Installation of playground and sports equipment. General black-topping, cement and surfacing procedures. Various types of utility maintenance jobs. Safe driving operations and practices. Vehicle safety signals including lights, wipers and mirrors.
ABILITY TO: Follow oral and written directions. Operate medium duty equipment used in grounds and utility work. Operate a school bus properly and safely. Maintain order among students being transported. Check bus for safety. Handle students who may present special problems. Maintain cooperative working relationships with those contacted during the performance of required duties.
