This posting is only open to approved student teachers and student interns who would like to be a Substitute Teacher in our district. Must have already been approved by the principal and the district office. * Note: If you are not an approved student teacher or intern, please use the regular Substitute Teacher posting to apply.

Requirements / Qualifications

A valid California Teaching Credential (30-day Substitute Permit is acceptable for day-to-day. Long-term assignments require valid California Teaching Credential applicable for the available vacancy.)

If you do not have a valid credential/permit, please submit copy of BA/BS degree and CBEST test results. If your application is selected, a referral will be sent to the substitute consortium. The process of applying for a permit is much faster with a referral, so please do not apply directly to the CTC for a substitute permit. If you are completing your Bachelor's Degree with your credential program, you may qualify for an Emergency Substitute Teaching Permit for Prospective Teachers. Please submit CBEST (or CTC equivalent) exam scores.

  • Certificate Copy (copy of valid CA credential/permit OR copy of BA/BS and CBEST test results)
  • Letter(s) of Reference (must include 3 (three) recent letters)
  • Resume
  • TB Screening Result (Completed within the last 60 days)
