St. Isidore School is in search of a part-time Math Teacher (Grades 6-8) for the 2021-2022 academic year. The school is located in the town of Danville, CA and serves approx. 610 students in TK through 8th grades. The Math Teacher fulfills the mission of St. Isidore School by planning, guiding, and evaluating the learning process of the students.The overall planning of instruction and the decision making responsibilities within essential job functions are aligned with school policies. Collaboration and flexibility with colleagues is necessary. The Math teacher reports to the Administration and is evaluated by the Principal.
St. Isidore School math teachers have a passion for math and education, and continuously collaborate to implement the math curriculum in a way that is consistent with our philosophies and practices. Our math teachers set high expectations for our students while demonstrating expertise in differentiating instruction to meet the wide variety of math capabilities. St. Isidore math teachers have a strong, comprehensive base in math and utilize best practices in math instruction. They ensure that students engage and learn at high levels, and integrate a wide range of resources beyond the textbook. They strive to enrich the quality of instruction for all students at benchmark and accelerated classes.
Essential Duties:
-Support and uphold the philosophy of Catholic education and the mission of the school.
-Act as a witness to Gospel values by modeling the teachings of the Catholic Church.
-Support and adhere to the Standards of Conduct and policies and procedures of the school.
-Plan for instruction with logically sequenced objectives based on adopted curriculum and submit plans according to the school policies.
-Provide appropriate material and resources for students to engage in learning.
-Use effective instructional methods and models according to professional standard practice.
-Use varied assessment tools to perform both formative and summative assessments.
-Provide instruction and assessment for understanding.
-Maintain current and accurate records according to school policies.
-Practice positive, consistent discipline in the management of the classroom.
-Communicate with parents regarding academic, behavioral, and safety concerns.
-Maintain a work schedule that maximizes availability to students, parents, and staff.
