Trivium Charter School, a personalized learning public charter school, is looking for a dynamic, engaging full time English/Language Arts teacher for grades 6-8. This position will be virtual, providing instruction via an online streaming platform as well as a learning management system (Canvas). We are looking for dynamic, engaging teachers who are interested in working in a collaborative environment where hands-on, project-based learning is emphasized and encouraged... and funded! (teachers receive a significant classroom budget). Teachers must be comfortable learning new technology and adapting to different student’s curricula and learning styles. Our academic program is highly successful and we are growing!
Our starting pay for the 22/23 school year is $61,013. We use a performance rating system so you can jump up in pay quickly each year if your performance is great.

The teacher will collaborate with the student’s teacher of record, parents, and Special Education department (if applicable), to address the personalized English/Language Arts needs and goals of those students and families.
Multiple subject credential or English credential preferred, with experience working with 6th-8th graders on ELA, reading, writing, and intervention.

Qualifications:

CA teaching credential

3+ years experience teaching designated subject area

Knowledge of best practices for online learning

Proficiency with online curriculum and technology such as Canvas, Schoology, etc.

Proficiency with webinar programs such as Google Meet, Zoom, Jigsaw Interactive

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Demonstrated ability to excel without direct supervision, take initiative to improve processes and to learn new skills and programs
Responsibilities:

Design and implement curriculum that meets standards and ensures student achievement.

Plan and carry out synchronous and asynchronous instructional activities that provide a positive and engaging experience for students and ensure that all students’ needs are met for your subject area.

Clearly articulate deadlines, schedules, and procedures to students and parents to ensure that the planned curriculum is completed.

Provide technical support to students and parents when necessary to ensure they have access to the material.

Ensure that student achievement and growth is consistent and appropriate for your subject area and age group.

Provide appropriate feedback on student work.

Assess feedback from students and parents and staff regarding online courseware and online courses.

Monitor students’ progress and achievement to implement necessary interventions.

Collaborate with the parents, teacher of record and administration to ensure all relevant information is shared.

Meet all expectations for progress monitoring and teacher of record, parent, and student communication.

Some Connect teachers may carry a roster of up to 5 independent study students to support, instruct, and monitor.
