Under general supervision, to do a wide variety of clerical work with varying degrees of difficulty, most of which involves the use of a computer; to do related work as required.
CLASS CHARACTERISTICS
Positions in this class are filled by the class of Clerk, Clerk Typist, Intermediate Clerk Typist, Senior Clerk Typist, and Secretary/Office Manager and requires prior clerical experience. A Clerical subsitute works under general supervision, and within a framework of established procedures, is expected to perform a wide variety of computer and general clerical duties with varying degrees of instruction or assistance. Adequate performance requires a knowledge of departmental procedures and precedents, and the ability to choose among a number of alternatives in solving problems. Substitute employees in this class may have frequent contact with students, teachers and the public, answering a variety of procedural questions or giving out information from established departmental records.
Experience: Three years increasingly responsible clerical experience or one year at or equivalent to the level of Clerk or higher with the Conejo Valley Unified School District.
Education: Persons with the experience, knowledge and abilities as stated are considered to have the necessary education.
