Job Summary

In addition to the essential school counselor responsibilities listed on the School Counselor job description, a lead counselor may be asked to; 1) COLLABORATE - (with school and district leaders, school psychologists, social workers, district behavior support teams, and other stakeholders) to support the SEL and behavioral needs of all VUSD students 2) BUILD A SYSTEM - Co-lead work with Educational Excellence and Student Services to support school counselors and others within the district to develop a data driven TK-12 SEL Roadmap/framework including a shared vision and plan guided by evidence based resources and practices. Identify and align comprehensive school counseling programs to school and district goals in a meaningful and measurable way. 3) PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT - Strengthen our evidence based resources and practices by arranging or providing trainings and workshops for identified topics 4) COMMUNICATION - Consistent two way communication with staff, students, families, and community partnerships to effectively integrate, reinforce, and provide access to social emotional resources and supports.
