The Preuss School at UC San Diego is a charter middle and high school dedicated to providing a rigorous college-prep education for low-income scholars who will become the first in their families to graduate from college. As a department within UC San Diego Academic Affairs, The Preuss School also serves as a model school to study and develop best practices in the preparation of low-income, urban scholars for college admission. Under the supervision of the Principal, The Preuss School teachers are focused on the attainment of the California Standards for the teaching profession: a. Engaging and Supporting All Students in Learning; b. Creating and Maintaining Effective Environment for Student Learning; c. Understanding and Organizing Subject Matter for Student Learning; d.
