Requirements / Qualifications

This position is at Marguerite Maze Middle School, and is a full-time, 8-hour-per-day position, open to current in-house Hollister School District employees only. The school secretary performs a wide variety of clerical/secretarial duties for assigned school site administration. Answers questions about school activities and programs. Assists with registration of students. Acts as receptionist and answers the telephone, orders, stores and maintains forms and supplies. Maintains active attendance files and permanent records including grades and test scores. Sends, requests and receives transcripts. Assumes the duties of the school office manager in event of absence. Performs other related duties as required.

Any combination of education and experience that demonstrates possession of the requisite knowledge, skill and abilities. High School Diploma, G.E.D. Equivalency, Three years of advanced clerical or secretarial work. Typing speed at a rate of 40 wpm. School experience preferred, use of computer terminal to enter data, maintain records and generate reports; establish and maintain effective work relationships with those contacted in the performance of required duties.
