About the Employer
The Hermosa Beach City School District is nestled in a beautiful beach city just 7 miles south of the LAX airport. HBCSD is currently comprised of three school sites, Hermosa View, Hermosa Vista, and Hermosa Valley School. We are a TK through 8th grade school district with a friendly staff, an involved parent community, and high expectations. Our mission is to work in partnership with our community to empower and prepare students to achieve and thrive by providing a relevant education, a safe and healthy environment, and an inclusive culture. Hermosa Beach City School District is located in a beautiful beach town with a very modern yet relaxed atmosphere. The Hermosa schools' student body is small and high achieving. We have a friendly, collaborative staff. Professional development is an important part of our certificated staff culture. Our parents are very active and supportive of their students and the schools.
HBCSD has a robust certificated salary schedule with placement based upon your education and experience teaching in a public school. All regular certificated positions participate in the CalSTRS retirement system. The certificated teacher work year is 182 days. Each regular certificated assignment is eligible to choose health benefits, may join the CTA union, and receives 10 sick days (1 per month worked). The position is eligible for health benefits and the successful candidate will receive an annual District benefit's contribution of $7,800.00.
