Guest Teacher – Non-Full Credential
The El Dorado County Office of Education fulfills the substitute needs of 14 School Districts and 4 County Programs in Western El Dorado County. Individuals who need to apply for an Emergency Substitute Permit, and or those who currently hold the permit, will be processed on “basis of need”. If you are applying due to referral from a District or School Administrator, please have that individual contact our office so we can expedite your application.
GUEST TEACHER POSITION
Qualified individuals are being sought to serve as substitute (guest) teachers when regular certificated staff are absent. Guest Teachers must be capable of carrying out predetermined lesson plans and assisting with daily self-help skills.
The Guest Teacher – Non-Full Credential posting is for candidates who currently hold an Emergency 30 Day Substitute Permit, and/or need to apply for an Emergency 30 Day Substitute Permit. QUALIFICATIONS
1) Emergency 30 Day Permit OR CBEST* results and Official Transcripts showing proof of a Bachelor's Degree. (See info below under “How to Apply”).
2) Fingerprint clearance (completed at time of hire)
3) TB clearance (dated within 30 days of application)
4) Medical clearance if you have not been employed in a California public school in the past 39 months or are a retired teacher (form provided at time of hire)
SPECIAL ADDITIONAL SKILLS
Individuals working in programs for students with severe handicaps must have the ability to lift students ranging in weight from infants to young adults and demonstrate a willingness to assist with self-help skills as necessary.
