I.              Position Title

              French Teacher

 

II.            Position Definition

French teacher is responsible for giving correct direction to the students.  Well be well acquainted with French philosophy and culture and should be able to explain the same to the        students in an effective way. Must be proficient in depicting first-class communication and interpersonal capabilities. Possess the standard etiquette and decency that will portray a good example before the students and develop them as modest individuals.

III.           Responsibilities

                Establish and maintains standards of pupil behavior needed to provide an orderly, productive classroom environment.
                Communicating with students in the French language.
                Scheduling feedback sessions with student and providing extra support.
                Organizing conversational classes and fun events where students can engage with French cultures.
                Keep current student’s attendance and grades.
                Create syllabi for each of the four courses assigned and AP French language.
                Plan, initiate and guide the study of units of study in French which involve speaking, listening, writing, and reading.
                Developing and planning French teaching strategies.
                Develop teaching materials, language games and other teaching aids.
                Create assessments (including comprehensive semester exams), evaluate those assessments, and promptly grade assessments and each student’s other work (assignments,                        presentations, etc)                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                           Using both in-class activities and online resources and platforms to create a blend learning environment.                                                                                                                      Communicate regularly and constructively with peers, administrators, students, and parents)                                                                                                                                                        Contribute to the Foreign Language Department in its deliberations and collaborative efforts.

     Experience/Education:
      Bachelor’s or master’s degree in French language or literature.
     Degree in education or a teaching certificate.
     Proven proficiency in oral and written French.
     Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
      Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
       Innovative thinking and good administration skills.

    Other:
    Must possess a valid California Driver’s license during the course of employment.
     Must be insurable at standard rates and maintain such insurability during the course of employment.
