Under the immediate direction of the Executive Director of Student Services, the School Nurse conducts a health service program for evaluation, improvement, and protection of the health of pupils and school employees in accordance with state law and district policies and procedures.

ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS - QUALIFICATIONS: • Experience Required: Three years of nursing experience required. Five years recommended. • Education Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing required. Possession of or eligibility for a Health Services Credential or School Nurse Credential authorizing service as a school nurse. • Skills, Knowledge and/or Abilities: Skills: Ability to work in a multi-ethnic setting; ability to relate effectively to children, parents, and staff; and ability to incorporate current concepts in health, including physical, emotional, and social areas into work in the school setting. Knowledge: Depth of understanding of psychosomatic theory and relation of emotional illness and physical illness. • Licenses, Certifications, Bonding, and/or Testing: Valid driver's license and evidence of insurability, TB test clearance, and criminal justice fingerprint clearance.
