DEFINITION

Under general supervision of the Child Care Services Director and Child Care Services Site Lead, and assist in the supervision, management, safety and well being of students during before school and after-school activity.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Assist in planning and implementing daily program.
  • Assist in planning and preparing the learning environment and in preparing needed materials and supplies.
  • Helps with general housekeeping tasks, including the serving of snacks.
  • Maintain professional attitude and loyalty to day care center.
  • Treat all children with dignity and respect.
  • Attend all staff meetings and recommended training programs.
  • Participate in professional organizations that work for the improvement of early childhood and primary education.
  • Oversee and supervise children in small groups.
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

Child Development Permit Required, teacher level or higher (please attach a copy of your permit). High School Diploma or equivalent -Cover Letter -Resume -A minimum of two (2) Letters of Professional Recommendation dated and signed within the last 2 years

The current position is working in a preschool classroom. Applicants interested in working in our programs should have open availability Monday - Friday from 7:00 am-6:00 pm. Applicants MUST possess a Child Development Permit, teacher level or higher. Location: Elementary School - Olinda Elementary Work Schedule: 8.0 hrs./day, 5 days/week, 9.5 mos./year Please see the job description to review the minimum requirements/qualifications for this classification and then provide relevant work experience which will qualify you for this position. Sick leave and vacation are earned on a prorated basis at a rate of one day per month. A District insurance policy for hospitalization, major medical, dental, vision, and life is offered. School employees must join the State School Employees Retirement System. All applicants must possess the personal qualifications generally recognized as essential to become an understanding public employee including integrity, initiative, dependability, courtesy, good judgment, and ability to work with others. Applicants may be rejected on the basis of an incomplete application or failure to meet the minimum posted qualifications. Individuals meeting the minimum and/or preferred qualifications will be contacted after the closing date for testing.
