River Oak is a well-established, free, public elementary charter school serving 246 students in grades kindergarten through eight. We are a member of the Alliance for Public Waldorf Education; the school is guided by the core principles of Waldorf education. We view each individual child through a developmental model that recognizes the importance of working with, rather than pushing against, the natural developmental arc of the child. In our results-driven age of “hurry, hurry,” we work to provide a balanced education that includes rigorous traditional academic studies at the age-appropriate grade level along with an impressive music and arts program. The Business Manager is responsible for the overall fiscal health of River Oak Charter School and performs professional accounting duties in the area of finance and fiscal services. The Operations Manager is responsible for the overall operations, facilities, and risk management of the school. The Business and Operations Manager is a member of a five-person office team, and is in regular contact with teachers, staff, students, and families. The Business and Operations Manager reports to the Superintendent/Principal. QUALIFICATIONS: The ideal candidate will possess three years of progressively responsible management experience of fiscal operations in a public school setting; B.S. degree in Business Administration or Accounting or equivalent education, training or experience; a thorough knowledge of the California Schools Accounting Manual; the Standardized Account Code Structure; Generally Accepted Accounting Principles; proper business practices; established laws and Education Code.
