Job Summary
Girl Scouts San Diego is seeking a Day Camp Site Director to provide leadership and guidance to day camp staff, volunteers and campers, and have responsibility for implementing and directing day camp programs, while ensuring the welfare and safety of the campers within the assigned camp programs. Essential Requirements
- Demonstrated experience and knowledge of day camp management.
- Current First Aid/CPR certifications..
- Knowledge and experience in Girl Scout program and safety practices.
- Ability to select, train and supervise staff and volunteers with the support of the DCD.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively in a team setting with diverse persons.
- Pleasant, positive and confident presentation of self and council.
- Incorporates understanding of child development and age appropriate behaviors.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to work independently and exercise good judgment.
- Awareness of potential health and safety hazards and consult DCD as needed to control them correctly..
- Valid drivers’ license, proof of insurance and access to reliable transportation. Daily and/or occasional travel may be required. Must be comfortable driving narrow, winding mountain roads with passengers in mini or cargo vans.
- Willingness to accept the beliefs and principles of the Girl Scout Movement and acceptance of the relevant and compelling benefits of Girl Scouting.
