Job Summary

Job Summary

The Principal will act as the instructional leader of the school and will ensure that the school is successful in the areas of student academic achievement and assessment, curriculum; teacher assignments, professional development and performance; WASC accreditation and LCAP development; and ongoing evaluation and process improvements of the school. The Principal will be responsible to oversee the school budget and ensure compliance with state/federal standards pertaining to charter school financial management. The employee will collaborate with other departments regularly, soliciting feedback from the instructional leadership team, students, and families to guide goal development and decision making. The employee will continually research current laws, educational trends, and best practices that relate to charter schools by attending conferences, training and participating in professional associations. Additional duties will be assigned as needed to serve and support the functions of the school. The Job Description is pending Board Approval June 2021.

Requirements / Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Experience: Five or more years of teaching experience with progressively increasing levels of responsibility in leadership/mentoring Five years in independent study administration strongly preferred Education: Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred. A valid, current, and appropriate California Administrative Services credential. A copy of credential to be provided and kept current through the duration of employment. Other Qualifications: State and federal fingerprint clearance (LiveScan) to work with students (Ed. Code 44237). No prospective employee can report to work without this clearance being received and Human Resources notifying the immediate supervisor of this clearance. Proof of a clear TB test or signed Certificate of Completion dated within the last 60 days (Ed. Code 49406) upon employment and thereafter updated every four years Valid California Driver’s License Copy of Transcript (Unofficial copy is acceptable) Credential Copy Letter of Introduction Letter(s) of Recommendation (Have Three References Available Upon Request (Including One Current Reference from an Immediate Supervisor)) Resume
