Harkham Hillel Hebrew Academy seeks a committed, collaborative and passionate faculty member to join our teaching team. Hillel seeks a Middle School Humanities Teacher who can assist students in fusing English language-arts and history in an engaging learning environment that cultivates an appreciation of humanities and the importance of the English language and history; prepares students for success in high school humanities programs; and presents students with experiences that promote and develop a growth mindset. Faculty Professional Characteristics/Qualities include: ? Maintains a passionate, student-centered, developmental approach to teaching ? Is well-organized and maintains up-to-date lesson plans, scope and sequence, and curriculum maps ? Demonstrates the ability to differentiate instruction and address the needs of all student learners ? Engages in meaningful and productive collaboration with administration, colleagues, and parents ? Harkham Hillel Hebrew Academy seeks a committed, collaborative and passionate faculty member to join our teaching team. With 90% of the student population living within a 2 mile radius, Hillel has the feel of a “home away from home” for our students and families. 75 years old, we are already a three generation school with profound roots in the Jewish community and the larger educational community of Los Angeles. Teachers quickly begin to feel connected to the community, invited in by its families and warmly taken in by the veteran staff members. Parent ambassadors help guide first year teachers at the school, making them known to the larger parent base and act as another point of school support as they transition into the school culture.
