JOB DESCRIPTION The Computer Lab Assistant performs a variety of duties in consultation with the District Technology Coordinator, classroom teachers and site principal. EDUCATION 1. High School graduation or beyond 2. Must pass a basic proficiency test upon initial employment for No Child Left Behind compliance or possess an A.A. or higher, or 48 units at an accredited institution of higher learning. EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS 1. Knowledge and ability to use computers and other lab technology; proficiency in Word processing and other commonly used technology programs. 2. Successful experience working with and supervising children desirable. 3. Ability to work successfully and manage students, one-on-one, in groups or as a whole class. 4. Good interpersonal skills; positive attitude of cooperation with supervisory personnel; friendly and positive relationships with all. 5. Ability to take initiative and direction. 6. Trainable and reliable on follow through. 7. Good organizational ability. 8. Understanding of the importance of professionalism and of maintaining confidentiality. 9. Meet the physical requirements necessary to safely and effectively perform assigned duties, including lifting fifty (50) pounds on a regular basis and occasionally lifting in excess of fifty (50) pounds with assistance. 10. First Aid certification required. 11. CPR certification desired.
