Requirements / Qualifications

All new candidates interested in Summer School teaching/subbing in the San Juan Unified School District must meet the following requirements:
• Hold a teaching credential based on a degree and student teaching OR • Be eligible to apply for an Emergency 30-Day Substitute Teaching Permit which has the minimum requirements of: o Must possess a bachelor’s degree or higher; and o Passed the California Basic Educational Skills Test (CBEST) or CSET Multiple Subject with Writing

In addition, you must: • Pass a Criminal Background Check

The following documents must be uploaded with your application: Credential/Permit Copy Copy of College/University Transcript Meet the Basic Skills requirement (passage of CBEST or CSET Multiple Subject with Writing and subtests 1-3)
