Job Summary
The Reading Intervention Teacher provides expertise and direct student services in the area of reading intervention at the school site level. This position will use district adopted assessments to identify students for intervention services, provide individual and small group reading intervention using district adopted materials, ensure timely progress monitoring using district adopted assessments and tools, as well as maintain intervention group fluidity to ensure student progress. This job is under the direction of the school site Principal and the Director of Intervention and School Support.
Requirements / Qualifications
A valid Clear, California teaching credential authorizing services as a Kindergarten through sixth grade teacher. 2. Appropriate documentation authorizing instruction to English language learners. 3. A minimum of three years successful classroom teaching experience. 4. An advance degree in reading, Reading Specialist Credential, Reading Certificate, or Reading Recovery (or equivalent) Certification completed or in progress. 5. Experience working within a Multi-Tiered System of Support. 6. Knowledge of the elements of effective instruction; researched based strategies; curriculum concepts and materials pertinent to the grade level and assessment procedures.
