COORDINATOR – EQUITY, ACCESS AND INCLUSION
THE POSITION
Under the direction of the Assistant Superintendent of Educational Support Services, the Coordinator will have the primary responsibility of supporting and advancing a District-wide culture of equity, access and inclusion, providing leadership and working collaboratively with directors, school site administrators, teachers, and counselors to provide ongoing coordinated services to meet the academic, social, emotional and developmental needs of all students in grades TK thru 12.
RESPONSIBLE TO: Assistant Superintendent of Educational Support Services or designee
QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge of:
- Organization, management, planning, evaluation strategies, techniques, and procedures.
- Curriculum and instruction design and delivery systems.
- State and federal accountability systems.
- Research and development strategies, processes, and techniques.
- Grant writing and program evaluation.
- Philosophical, educational, fiscal, and legal aspects affecting a school district.
Ability to:
- Follow safety procedures and written and verbal instructions.
- Analyze and assess programmatic needs, and offer recommendations.
- Work cooperatively with staff, students, and the public.
- Make independent decisions.
- Demonstrate good judgment and good problem-solving skills.
- Organize tasks, set priorities and meet deadlines.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Provide leadership to all staff in determining short- and long-range equity plans based on school level needs and/or overall District goals and objectives.
- Collaborate with Human Resources for the purpose of identifying existing barriers and strategies to assure a diverse and culturally proficient workforce.
- Collaborate with Educational Services and District staff to coordinate and design professional development opportunities that are aligned with the District and site equity, access and inclusion goals.
- Coordinate meetings, in-service trainings, and family & community activities related to the implementation of equity and cultural proficiency programs;
- Coordinate with appropriate departments, school sites, families, and the community organizations to support identified student groups and families.
- Advise school District administrators, staff and constituents for the purpose of promoting awareness of equity programs and services.
- Consult and guide school administration on responses to acts of racism and discrimination.
- Other duties as assigned.
PHYSICAL ABILITIES
- Visual ability to read handwritten or typed documents and the display screen of various office equipment and machines.
- Able to conduct verbal conversation in English or other designated language.
- Able to hear normal range verbal conversation (approximately 60 decibels.)
- Able to sit, stand, stoop, kneel, bend, and walk.
- Able to sit for sustained periods of time.
- Able to climb slopes, stairs, steps, ramps, and ladders.
- Able to lift up to ten (10) pounds frequently, and thirty (30) pounds occasionally.
- Able to carry up to ten (10) pounds frequently, and thirty (30) pounds occasionally.
- Able to push and pull objects weighing up to thirty (30) pounds.
- Able to demonstrate manual dexterity necessary to operate calculator, computer keyboard at the required speed and accuracy in a safe and effective manner.
- Able to operate a motor vehicle in a safe and effective manner.
- Possession and maintenance of a valid California Pupil Personnel Services Credential, and/or School Psychology and/or School Counseling or License Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), or Marriage, Family Therapist License (MFT), desired.
- Possess a valid California Administrative Services Credential.
- Administrative service experience at site level desired.
- Three (3) or more years of successful related experience.
- Experience in elementary and secondary school desired.
- Possess a current driver’s license.
Training and Experience:
WORK YEAR: 214 days
SALARY: Certificated Administrative Salary Schedule - Coordinator
